Massage has many physical and psychological benefits and can aid the treatment of many different conditions. Massage has been used for centuries for the purpose of relaxation, pain relief and to encourage general well-being. Through manipulating the body tissues, different body systems are stimulated to produce a variety of positive effects. 

Fliss can provide the following treatments:

Sports Massage

From initial assessment including range-of-movement testing, through massage therapy, to post-treatment exercises and stretching exercises Fliss offers a complete range of treatments.

  • Pre-event: Massage prior to an athlete competing can be performed directly before an event as part of their warm up and prepping their body for performance. It can also be used over time as way to help improve body condition in build up to an event.
  • Post event: Massage post event will help to return the body tissues to their pre-event state and assist the body's natural healing processes.
  • Injury treatment: After an initial period of rest following an injury, massage can help aid the body's healing processes, break down scar tissue and improve muscle strength, length and flexibility.
  • Generalized treatment: You don’t have to be a competitive athlete to appreciate the benefits of a sports massage treatment.  All of us in our day to day lives put our bodies under strain, which can affect our posture and flexibility.

 Swedish Massage

Hot Stone Massage 

  • Stimulates circulation
  • Helps ease sore muscles and promote deep muscular relaxation
  • Increase lymph flow creating a detoxifying effect

  • Help to break down 'knots' or muscle adhesions
The use of hot stones for therapeutic purposes have been documented throughout many cultures for many hundreds of years.  The massage involves the use of volcanic stones (basalt) heated in water. During the treatment stones are left in place on specific areas of the body and are also used to perform the massage. 
  


Indian Head Massage

A stress-busting massage of head, shoulders, arms and face, to relax and refresh you. Indian Head massage is a Westernised approach based on East Indian champissage techniques. 

This 45 minute treatment is performed seated and does not require the removal of clothes.  This treatment can alleviate the symptoms of conditions such as migraines, tension headaches and sinus problems. 


Pregnancy Massage

Although an exciting time pregnancy can be demanding on the body leaving you with aches and pains as well as general feelings of fatigue. Through massage you can help relieve those aches and pains, help to alleviate water retention and generally help you to relax. Fliss has specific training to allow her to work with pregnant clients once in their second trimester. Massage treatments can be performed in a side lying position or seated, depending on client preference.

Fliss also offers a chance for the birth partner to come learn some techniques to help out during the actual labour. This is offered free of charge to anyone who comes in for a treatment.
